    In "Rambo: Last Blood," Sylvester Stallone returns to blaze a final, furious trail of vengeance as the iconic John Rambo. After an old friend’s daughter is kidnapped, Rambo tracks the girl down, rescues her, and returns to his Arizona ranch. But when hit men are sent to take him out, the warrior in Rambo is fully — and mercilessly — unleashed. (Gary Reber)

    The 2.39:1 2160p HEVC/H.265 4K Ultra HD HDR10 picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally using the Red Gemini camera system and sourced from a 4K Digital Intermediate. Picture is excellent with sharp and detail imagery, though some the movie's darker scenes appear less so. Closeups abound and reveal the gruesome impact of violence as well as facial features damaged by battles. The color palette exhibits wonderfully warm and rich hues, especially the look of the Rambo ranch. Nuanced hue shadings provide enhanced color depth. HDR contrast delivers strong black levels and generally revealing shadows. White levels appear realistic. Resolution as noted is generally revealing of fine detail throughout. This is a satisfying visual experience and the reference for this Stallone classic. (Gary Reber)

    The Dolby Atmos/Dolby TrueHD 7.1-channel soundtrack delivers an aggressive surround presence. Atmospherics and sound effects effectively engage the surrounds. The height layer is use sparingly except for the action sequences in enemy territory. Brian Tyler's orchestral score occupies a wide and deep soundstage that extends to the surrounds. Deep bass is delivered through the .1 LFE channel with dynamic impact. Dialogue is intelligible throughout though in large measure ADR produced. This is a satisfying action holosonic® soundtrack that is dynamic sounding. (Gary Reber)
